Daniel Ashton, Digital Product Developer

Daniel Ashton, Digital Product Developer

Hi, I’m Daniel. I’ve worked with Warwick Music since 2012, I saw the first pBones go on sale and I am responsible for overseeing all of our websites and a lot of the online output we create.

I studied Fine Art at the Manchester Metropolitan University and from there I hold a degree in Interactive Arts. I have now relocated back to my home county of Devon in the South West of England from where I work remotely for the company. After completing my degree in Manchester I was fortunate enough to be asked to carry out design and development work within the city’s music industry, I worked with well known artists including the Production Team behind the Indie band The Charlatans.

I love to see to how our customers interact with the website’s and products I develop and it has been a pleasure to be on-board throughout the growth of the pInstruments. We have a great team here at Warwick Music and it feels amazing to be part of the crew, I couldn’t fulfil my role without them.

Fun fact: The Warwick Music team is not the only crew I am a part of. Since 2008 I have been a member of The Salcombe RNLI Lifeboat Crew. I’m one of those lunatics you see launching in all kinds of weather on the big orange and blue lifeboats to be seen around the country when on seaside holidays. Believe it or not – and it’s absolutely true – when I first joined the crew I had no sea-going experience whatsoever. This quickly earned me the nick-name of “Dangerous Dan”. Today I rather hope that I am less dangerous – and am proud to be one of the Tamar Class Lifeboat’s Search & Rescue Navigators.

Phil Doyle, Financial Controller

Phil Doyle, Financial Controller

Hi. I’m Phil, my role at Warwick Music is Financial Controller so I am responsible for anything numbers related.

I have worked in various finance roles for over 25 years in a number of different industries which has given me a great deal of experience. I started working at Warwick Music in 2014. I enjoy my role here as it is quite varied due to the global nature of what we do. It is also very rewarding to see the interaction and enjoyment that the musicians around the world have when using our various instruments.

I live in Coventry, England with my wife and two children. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, reading, travel and playing golf.

Fun Fact: On a trip to India, my wife and I (among with 28 others) played tug-of-war with an elephant. We lost! As a family we have also all recently achieved our purple belts in kickboxing.

Chris Fower, Director of Education

Chris Fower, Director of Education

Hi, I’m Chris, and I’m Warwick Music Group’s Director of Education. I’ve worked with Warwick Music since 2012 and I’m completely committed to brass instrumental learning and especially first access through pBone and pTrumpet.

I studied bass trombone at Leeds College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music, and have made my living playing and teaching for over 25 years! I’m passionate about both performance and education, especially in engaging as many people as possible with the fantastic world of brass playing!

I live in Derbyshire in the English East Midlands but am a Yorkshire man through and through- as I will tell anyone who asks, or indeed doesn’t ask.

Kate Greenall, Social Media Manager

Kate Greenall, Social Media Manager

Hi, I’m Kate! I am responsible for all things social media so I love seeing the fun and wacky things our creative followers get up to with their pBones, pTrumpets and pBuzz.

I also have a love for music and after starting to play the clarinet aged six went on to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and am now principal clarinet of the award-winning Glebe Symphonic Winds.

I enjoy engaging with our customers from all around the world whilst juggling my three young children!

Fun fact: Whilst on a music tour to South Africa I rode an ostrich – not an experience I am in a hurry to repeat!

Meet the Team

Hello, I’m Steven. I started playing trombone at the age of nine – and I haven’t put it down since! I’ve always had an interest in music which is why I set up Warwick Music.

In 2007 I was approached by Hugh Rashleigh who had the great idea to create a plastic trombone. He was after some help to develop it and get it into production. After a lot of work, the outcome was pBone- which has become the world’s best-selling trombone. I’m thrilled it’s helped thousands of children and would-be musicians to start their own musical journey- as well as giving fun to professionals and enthusiasts alike.

I’m still an active performer myself and conduct the award-winning Glebe Symphonic Winds, where I met my wife Kate. We now live in Staffordshire, England with our three young children. They haven’t picked up a trombone yet- but we think it’s only a matter of time!

Fun fact: At the age of 5, I wrapped my teddy bear in an electric blanket (to keep him warm of course) and managed to burn down my house. Safe to say, that’s a memory I’m never going to forget!

Lucy Leddington-Wright, General Manager

Lucy Leddington-Wright, General Manager

Hi, I’m Lucy! My career in the music industry began in 2003 when I completed my Master’s degree in Musicology at Cardiff University, after which I spent a year working for Warwick Music as a graduate. I then moved to London and spent the next eight years working in various Orchestra Management roles with Southbank Sinfonia and the Royal Opera House, with my last year there as Orchestra Manager. It is great to be back with Warwick Music Group as General Manager, a role I have been in since September 2014. I like to bring effective, confident and capable managerial experience to the team along with a positive attitude!

Fun fact: During my gap year travelling around Australia and New Zealand in 2004-5, I had various jobs including chamber maid, selling fireworks, promotion girl for the V8 races, music and dance teacher at a Kindergarten, and waitress in a Sydney café! I also exchanged an evening of manning a BBQ at the AJ Hackett bungee site in Cairns for 3 bungee jumps at their full moon party!

Becca Pope, Publishing Manager

Becca Pope, Publishing Manager

Hi, I’m Becca and I’m the publishing manager at Warwick Music. Alongside this I’m also an Education Ambassador for the company which involves me going into school and the community delivering projects and encouraging children and adults alike to join our pFamily!

I studied trombone at the Royal Northern College of Music and enjoyed playing professionally with various ensembles, most notably the award winning all-female trombone quartet Bones Apart. I then decided to go into education, training to become a classroom teacher and keeping playing for fun!

I now live in Derbyshire, England with my husband, my three wonderful children and my very dozy brown Labrador.

Fun fact: I started my musical career at the age of 3 on the… violin!!! But shhh… don’t tell anyone…

Matt Pope, Operations Director

Matt Pope, Operations Director

Hi, I’m Matt. Music has always been around me my whole life; my dad, granddad and even great grandad were all musicians. The first instrument I played was the piano at the age of four; I started playing the trumpet aged 13 and haven’t put it down since! I still play and teach now.

I joined Warwick Music Group in 2011, but music has always been a passion and hobby. I don’t know yet if I have passed on my musical talents to my children, although my eldest has just recently joined a choir which he loves, and my middle one doesn’t stop singing all day. As long as I can show them a passion and enthusiasm for music, I’ll be a happy man.

My most unforgettable memory so far was playing my trumpet at the Royal Albert Hall for the first time and meeting and playing with the late Roy Castle! I now live back in the village where I grew up, Measham in the English Midlands, with my three children and wife Becca.

Fun Fact: Aside from music, my other interest is cars, I love them!! I have a collection of 14 cars in total- mainly classic British sports cars- and I own a split screen VW campervan.

Chris Shea, Project & Product Development Manager

Chris Shea, Project & Product Development Manager

Ni Hao, Hi, I’m Chris. I come from an engineering, sales and marketing background and my experience has given me a great insight into the many facets of business and product development. Latterly my work has centred around new product development in the niche field of plastic music instrument design. Although not an instrument player myself over the last six years I have been extremely fortunate to personally meet and appreciate many talented instrument players such as the ones within our own team here at Warwick Music Group.

My life took a very different turn almost six years ago when I relocated to China, where I am now based near Hong Kong with my Chinese wife, Eden and two young children Asher & Aaron. China life is interesting and vastly different culturally from life in the UK and I am now considered ‘Chinglish’ by my Chinese and ex-pat friends.

Working with a forward thinking company such as Warwick Music is a total pleasure and I relish the opportunities, both in contributing to making a difference to young children’s lives within the realms of music education, and also the challenge of developing and introducing new innovative products into the music instrument sector.

Fun Fact: Fun for me used to be racing my Porsche 924 and Caterham, but now my much more pleasurable priority is spending time with my kids who constantly make me smile, never fail to amaze me and make me feel the proudest Dad in the world. Kids are our legacy and we should never underestimate their potential and the difference they can make (for the better) to our own and other people’s lives.

Branislav Zivkovic, President North America and Global Chief Commercial Officer

I am Branislav Zivkovic, pronounced BRA-KNEE-SLAV – ZEEV-KO-VITCH !

I grew up in a household in Switzerland with a piano and at around the age of 5 I got my first guitar. I managed to develop guitar picking skills and memorize Fuer Elise by LVB! I enjoy enabling and listening to my 4 children as they develop abilities and embark on their musical journey.

I met the Warwick bunch in 2012 and joined the team in 2016 as President North America and Global Chief Commercial Officer.

Fun Fact: I moved to the USA in 1998 and shortly thereafter acquired my Harley Davidson, Heritage Springer Softail, DIAMOND ICE. She has been with me ever since, throughout transitions in life, as corporate gypsy on 3 continents, battery always on the trickle charger, ready to build the next memory.
